This retreat is more than a tour — it is a journey of outer discovery and inner awakening. Travel through the High Atlas, explore Aït Ben Haddou and the Todra Gorge, then settle into the Sahara for three nights of deep desert immersion. Each day offers guided yoga and meditation sessions carefully adapted to the landscape and energy of the place. Between practices, enjoy camel treks, desert walks, encounters with Berber culture, and long moments of silence. Return to Marrakech transformed, carrying the stillness of the dunes within you.

8 Days Desert Yoga Retreat Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Aït Ben Haddou – Dades Valley

Your private driver collects you from Marrakech as the morning light softens the city. Soon afterwards, the road climbs into the High Atlas Mountains via the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters. Along the way, sweeping views of rugged peaks, terraced fields, and ancient Berber villages unfold around every bend. Afterwards, you stop at the legendary Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose mud-brick towers have starred in countless films. While walking its timeless alleys, you can feel the weight of centuries. From there, the journey continues through Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses into the striking Dades Valley, where dramatic rock formations rise like natural sculptures. In the late afternoon, you settle into your riad and gather for a gentle welcome yoga and grounding meditation. After releasing the journey and setting your intentions, you enjoy dinner under the mountain sky.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert

After a quiet morning yoga practice, you leave the Dades Valley and travel toward one of Morocco’s most spectacular natural wonders — the Todra Gorge. Once you arrive, you walk between towering limestone cliffs that rise more than 300 meters, feeling the cool air and the quiet power of the canyon. Continuing onwards, the road leads through palm oases and traditional villages until the landscape gradually opens into desert. In the late afternoon, you finally reach Merzouga and the edge of the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. Afterwards, you transfer by camel or 4×4 across the soft sand to your luxury desert camp. As the sun sinks, the dunes turn from gold to deep orange and rose. Then you gather for an evening yoga and meditation session while the first stars appear. Finally, dinner is served under a vast, glittering sky, accompanied by soft Berber music, before your first night in the Sahara begins.

Day 3: Full Day Sahara – Sunrise Yoga & Desert Immersion

Early in the morning, you rise before dawn and step onto the cool sand for a powerful sunrise yoga practice. As the first light paints the dunes in soft pink and gold, you move through a mindful flow and settle into meditation while the desert awakens around you. After breakfast, the day is yours to explore and absorb. During the morning and afternoon, you can walk deeper into the dunes, ride camels across the soft ridges, visit a nomadic Berber family, or simply sit in silence and listen to the wind. Meanwhile, sandboarding and photography offer lighter moments of play. Later in the afternoon, you return to camp for a restorative yin or gentle flow practice as the sun sets once more. Afterwards, dinner is shared under the stars, followed by traditional music and long conversations or quiet reflection. Finally, a second night in the heart of the Sahara deepens the magic.

Day 4: Deep Sahara Experience – Third Desert Night

Once again, a luminous sunrise yoga session on the dunes opens the day — this time slower, more spacious, and deeply meditative. After breakfast, the desert invites you to go further inward. During the day, you can choose a longer 4×4 excursion across the Erg Chebbi, a private walk among the dunes, or extended time for personal practice, journaling, and breathwork. Meanwhile, the silence here feels profound; many guests describe it as one of the most powerful experiences of their lives. In the afternoon, the schedule remains intentionally open for rest and integration. As the sun sets, you gather for a closing desert practice that honors the three nights spent in this sacred landscape. Afterwards, dinner under the infinite sky and a final night in your private luxury tent complete this rare immersion in the Sahara’s timeless energy.

Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

After a final sunrise practice and breakfast in the dunes, you bid farewell to the desert camp. First, you stop in Rissani to experience a traditional market still shaped by centuries of trade. Then you retrace the scenic route through the Todra Gorge, where the towering cliffs now feel like old friends and offer a perfect space for quiet reflection. Continuing into the Dades Valley, you arrive in the afternoon. As the landscape changes from open dunes to dramatic rock formations and palm groves, the transition supports a gentle return. In the evening, you gather for a grounding yoga and meditation session designed to help integrate the intense desert experience. Afterwards, dinner and overnight take place in a peaceful riad with views of the valley.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Aït Ben Haddou – Marrakech

Following morning yoga in the valley, you begin the journey back. First, you travel through the Valley of Roses and the palm oasis of Skoura before reaching Ouarzazate. Afterwards, you may pause once more at Aït Ben Haddou if desired, then begin the spectacular crossing of the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, panoramic viewpoints invite photo stops and moments of gratitude for the landscapes that have held you. In the late afternoon, you arrive in Marrakech and settle into your riad. Then an evening restorative yoga and meditation session helps the body and mind transition from the vast silence of the desert to the vibrant energy of the city.

Day 7: Full Day Yoga & Integration in Marrakech

This day is kept intentionally spacious and dedicated to integration. In the morning and afternoon, yoga sessions can be held in a quiet riad courtyard or peaceful garden, focusing on restoration, heart-opening, and integration of the desert journey. Between the sessions, you enjoy free time: a traditional hammam, slow wandering through the souks, a visit to a garden, or simply resting with a journal and mint tea. Meanwhile, the unhurried pace allows the insights and stillness of the Sahara to settle deeply. In the evening, an optional meditation or sharing circle closes the formal practice of the retreat. Afterwards, you rest overnight in Marrakech.

    Day 8: Marrakech

Departure In the morning, a final yoga practice and closing circle offer space to honor the journey and set intentions for the path ahead. After breakfast, your private driver transfers you to Marrakech airport or your chosen accommodation according to your schedule. As you leave, you carry more than memories — the silence of the dunes, the rhythm of your breath under open skies, and a renewed sense of connection to yourself and the world. Finally, this 8-day Desert Yoga Retreat ends, but the transformation continues.
